Time to Start Marketing For the New Lawn Maintenance Season

Hi guys, Andrew here. I’ve been working on my speech today for Lawn Care Summit. I thought I would just take a quick break and remind you guys that now is the time to really be thinking about and planning your marketing for this upcoming season. We’ve been getting a huge number of calls, before the holidays, after the holidays. I’ve been on the phone all day today, myself, and that’s great. Now is the time that you need to be thinking about your marketing for the season. You, and especially if you’re doing online marketing, you need to be executing right now.

You know something that I see every single year is that companies will call me in December or January, I’ll go over our process with them, I’ll tell them what marketing plans are appropriate for them, what online marketing plans specifically are appropriate for them, and then I won’t hear from them for another six months. I’ll hear from them in June. For whatever reason, they’ve waited six months to start their marketing, so not only have they missed out on all those clients that they would have captured in March, April, and May, that’s clients that they would have captured in those first months of the season that they’re going to keep the entire length of that season. That’s a lot of money that you’re missing out on.

The reason that you need to start your marketing now is because when it comes to SEO, local listings, any of the different strategies that we implement, it’s not instantaneous. It’s going to take a couple months to get you up on that first page of Google. Typically, we tell our clients anywhere from two-to-three months. If you’re planning on calling us in March or you’re planning on calling us right when season starts or mid-season, you’re going to be missing out on a lot of new clients. Right now is when you need to be starting.

I just wanted to shoot this real quick. I also wanted to say welcome to the New Year. I hope everybody had a wonderful holiday, but it’s time to get serious. It’s time to really drill down and focus on the marketing that’s going to make your business grow this year. I really want to encourage you to get started now. Don’t procrastinate. Don’t wait six months. Don’t wait until next year. Capture the maximum number of leads you can at the beginning of the season.
